He was a top CEO lives in public housing? Influencer Marketing

Image
Last week I was hiking and started chatting with another hiker like I normally do. It turns out the hiker I met had been the CEO in one of the top conglomerates in Hong Kong. This man had become an influencer, but what happened.  What happened to this man who had become an influencer? He had been well connected and invested all his retirement in stocks. It was interesting though, he could see the differences in the other cultures we discussed. But he didn’t agree with the ideas we discussed about his home culture, China. This is not a new problem. I work with many of my clients to help them adjust their content marketing agree with different cultures. Most often, clients agree with the other cultures’ value preferences, but not with their own. But, when I start asking questions about some of their value thinking and behaviors, they begin to see. This is one of the reasons culture shock is so powerfully difficult. We don’t see our own actions in our culture as unusual and therefore we resist others’ points of view. Back in 1996, my Intercultural Training mentor  in San Francisco, Todatsu Imahori who was from Japan. Todd, (his USA name) shared some important po...
