He was a top CEO lives in public housing? Influencer Marketing

Image
Last week I was hiking and started chatting with another hiker like I normally do. It turns out the hiker I met had been the CEO in one of the top conglomerates in Hong Kong. This man had become an influencer, but what happened.  What happened to this man who had become an influencer? He had been well connected and invested all his retirement in stocks. After he retired all his connections faded away, and all his stocks list value in the last crash. Now he lives in public housing – terrifying. That is a terrifying prospect, isn’t it? In the Gig economy most folks who start a Gig for side cash want to prevent that kind of terror. I know I’ve been up and I’ve been down, and it feels a lot better to be up. This is how you gain traction once you’ve become an influencer. As Gary Vee says, is now the time for your passion Gig? More later… DEFINITION : Giggers – those who have started their own Gig to live the New Gig Economy Lifestyle. How do you rate? How do you chan...

One day my mentoring client JJ, very proudly told me he had written and posted his blog every day for a year. I asked if he was following a content marketing calendar / roadmap. When he said “No,” I said, “You’re wasting your time, dude.” See, JJ had took a paid digital marketing course that cost him a lot of money. (They totally took advantage of him.) Even though the course expensive he didn’t learn to create a content marketing calendar / roadmap. With my clients I have seen many wastes when they don’t follow a content calendar / roadmap and write content daily. These wastes include: You don’t follow a plan and plan resources You get sidetracked and lose focus of your main objectives You may change your brand image You can’t measure and optimize well You can’t create consistently engaging content You may miss out out on hot marketing holidays You may have gaps in connecting with your audience You can’t align your organic posts with paid campaigns You may not deli...

I one day many years ago I read a story from Dale Carnegie’s book, How to Win Friends and Influence People, and I still remember that story. At the time it was the best selling non-fiction book of all times. I have two questions. Why was (and still is) that book so wildly popular? Why do I still remember some of the stories from the book? Both of these help us understand the power of storytelling. You see, before we had records the only way to teach others was to tell them the story of what happened. For thousands of years humans had voices and words the only way to pass lessons was to tell stories. Ever wonder why movies are still so popular? Movies are stories. Let me take you back and answer the questions about Dale Carnegie’s book. Dale’s book is so popular because it is full of stories that people remember. When people remember, they tell others. (Do you want people to remember your cite, service, product, etc? I remember stories from that book because Dale wr...
