What to be remembered for your primary brand association?

Tell stories with your associated group.

Examples of memorable groups aligned brand personality

Here are some associations I have heard lately.

-Have you ever heard someone being referred to as, “That man is “the” Dwayne Johnson of real estate in this town.”

-Or have you ever seen someone and thought, “Jenny is so well connected she's like the Uber of wedding planners in our area.”

-Have you ever met a volunteer and felt, “That social worker is the Fairy Godmother for elderly care here.”

-Or have you ever heard someone talking and they said, “You need to talk to Georgina. That woman is a wise old owl, she knows everything.

How you need to connect your association

To keep it simple for your audience you want to choose one group to align first. The reason for starting with one association is it helps your audience recognise you.

When you are completing The Builder, which of the following a person, a brand, a character, or an animal feels most aligned with your personality and audience.

Look at your quadrant, what do you say to myself about which group feels comfortable. Then look at which group you feel most comfortable aligning your brand personality and audience?

Connect to your audience and your primary brand association

As you curate and produce content in the future, you will frequently see yourself talking about the feeling of being somewhat like this person, brand, character, or animal.

Just choose the group you want to associate with. At this point you are NOT choosing a specific person, brand, etc.

In the next post you will answer a series of questions. These will help you make a valuable choice for your primary brand association.

Which group do you see as the best fit first?

Based on your quadrant which feels most aligned to you? When you look at these which would you say feels best aligned to your personal brand?

-Person

-Brand

-Character

-Animal

Step 1) Just choose the one of the above groups that best fits with you personal brand.
Step 2) After you choose your association group, next list who or what you have in mind to associate.

For example, my primary association is the "person" group. So, I associate with Gary Vaynerchuk, Tony Robbins, Dale Carnegie, Zig Ziglar, and Richard Branson.

Who / what will be your primary brand association first?

Also remember, it’s all about telling stories with your association.

Next time,  you will do the "content curate challenge." So you will start curating for your primary group. You will find 4 different types of content for your association. This will be your go-to content aligned to your brand personality.

See you next time.
